7-Day Catamaran Itinerary in Turkey: Sail the Turquoise Coast from Marmaris

Sailing the Turkish coast is like diving into a nautical version of The Arabian Nights—but with bikinis, cold white wine, and Roman ruins peeking out from turquoise waters. This one-week catamaran itinerary along the Turquoise Coast is the closest thing to living a dream: wild bays, pine forests down to the sea, thousand-year-old tombs, and dinners under the stars.

We’ll depart from Marmaris and sail 125 nautical miles through the southwest coast of Turkey, discovering remote anchorages, local cuisine, and some of the most breathtaking landscapes the Mediterranean has to offer.

DAY 1 – From Marmaris to Ekincik (21 NM)

Easy start. First swim. First meze. First “wow”.

We set sail from the lively port of Marmaris, where the city buzz melts away as soon as we pull away from the docks. Before departure, there’s time to stock up on fresh fruit, bread, and local treats from the nearby bazaar—or just sip a Turkish coffee by the waterfront.

The coastline here is stunning: pine-covered hills plunge straight into the sea, and the breeze carries hints of resin and salt. It’s the kind of navigation that slows your heartbeat.

After a few hours, we reach Ekincik Bay, a quiet, protected anchorage with crystal-clear waters perfect for our first dip. Mask and snorkel on—time to meet the fish.

From here, we have a few optional adventures:

  • Cruise up the Dalyan River on a local panga boat
  • Visit the ancient Lycian tombs carved into the cliffs
  • Soak in a natural mud bath

Back at the bay, dinner at My Marina Restaurant is a must. With freshly caught sea bass, aubergine meze, and a panoramic terrace overlooking your catamaran, it’s the kind of place you raise a glass and think: “Yep, this is the life.”

DAY 2 – From Ekincik to Göbün (30 NM)

A long sailing day, unreal snorkelling, and a hidden bay from another world.

We weigh anchor early to make the most of today’s longer leg. The coastline is rugged and wild, with pine-clad cliffs diving into the sea.

First stop: Asi Koyu, a horseshoe-shaped bay with ultra-clear waters. Perfect for swimming and snorkelling.

By lunchtime, we reach Ağa Limanı, with a dockside taverna under the trees. Expect flaky börek, fresh olives, and that Mediterranean sense of time standing still.

In the late afternoon, we arrive at Göbün Bay, a fjord-like anchorage surrounded by rock walls and pine forest. Zero light pollution. Just you, nature, and a thousand stars.

DAY 3 – From Göbün to Fethiye (14 NM)

Island-hopping, ancient ruins, and the buzz of a coastal town.

Short sailing day = time to explore. We cruise through islets, stop at Tersane Island (a Byzantine-era shipyard with ruins to snorkel through), then reach Fethiye in the afternoon.

The marina is modern and full of life. Explore the local bazaar, grab spices, and check out the hilltop Lycian tombs—especially at sunset.

Dinner spots: Megri for elegant Turkish fusion, or Pasa Kebap for old-school flavors and slow-cooked lamb.

DAY 4 – From Fethiye to Ekincik (37 NM)

Longest day at sea—also the most epic. Blue lagoons, sunken ruins, and island magic.

Sailing through the Göcek Islands is a visual gift. We stop at Hamam Bay (half-submerged Roman baths), then head to the Yassıca Islands—low, sandy, and shallow, perfect for swimming.

Lunch at Kille Bay (rustic, family-run, and 100% delicious), then a long peaceful glide back into Ekincik, where it now feels like home.

DAY 5 – From Ekincik to Kumlubük (16 NM)

Snorkelling, hidden ruins, and a sunset you’ll never forget.

We dive in Kadırga Bay—calm water, vibrant fish. A hike inland leads to overgrown Byzantine ruins where fig trees rule the land.

Midday we anchor off Dislice Island for lunch and a swim, then sail into Kumlubük Bay for the most beautiful golden hour of the trip.

Dinner: Kumlubuku Yacht Club. Fresh seafood, cool drinks, and a view that silences the table.

DAY 6 – From Kumlubük to Marmaris (7 NM)

The final stretch. Authentic village vibes, a last swim, and a farewell toast.

The last leg is short, which makes it the perfect day to enjoy every moment slowly. We weigh anchor mid-morning and set sail along a coastline that still takes our breath away—pine forests tumbling into the sea, quiet coves, and light dancing on the waves.

We make a stop in Turunç, a picturesque fishing village tucked into the cliffs. It’s one of those places where time moves differently. Here, you can stroll the waterfront, have a Turkish tea, or browse the market for artisanal honey, olive oil, hand-painted ceramics, or natural soaps.

For those wanting one last dip, Turunç’s calm bay is perfect for a final swim in those warm Mediterranean waters.

After lunch, we begin our approach to Marmaris, entering a stunning natural harbor shaped like an amphitheater. The castle appears above the marina, the masts fill the skyline, and the feeling is clear: we’ve come full circle.

This is the moment to enjoy a slow drink on deck, savoring the final golden light of the day, reliving memories, and sharing laughter.

Dinner suggestions: Dede Restaurant or Pineapple, both perfect to toast the end of a magical journey.

DAY 7 – Marmaris & Farewell

Back to land. But part of you stays at sea.

The final morning always comes too soon. After breakfast on deck, it’s time to pack, take one last look at your cabin, and say goodbye to your crew—and your floating home.

But the journey doesn’t have to end right away. Marmaris still has stories to tell. If you have time before heading to the airport, here’s what we recommend:

  • Visit the Marmaris Castle and Maritime Museum
  • Wander through the Grand Bazaar for last-minute souvenirs
  • Explore the local food market for honey, olives, spices, and more

As you walk the promenade one last time, you’ll notice it: a new calm, a new perspective. You came for a sailing holiday—but what you got was something deeper.
