Course Objectives
- Master essential maneuvers: docking, anchoring, sail trimming, and helm control on a catamaran.
- Route planning using nautical charts, navigation apps, and weather analysis.
- Life onboard management, including safety and resource optimization.
- Decision-making during navigation: participants will choose routes, execute maneuvers, and adjust sails daily.
- Explore Ibiza and Formentera while anchoring in some of the Mediterranean’s most stunning coves.
Course Program
- Day 1: Check-in at Sant Antoni de Portmany (Ibiza). Catamaran presentation and technical review: engines, sails, safety systems, and generator.
- Day 2: Maneuver practice, including advanced docking and anchoring techniques in Ibiza coves.
- Day 3: Navigation to Formentera with coastal sailing drills, autopilot use, and route planning based on weather.
- Day 4: Long crossing simulation, teamwork, watch shifts, and sail adjustments based on wind conditions.
- Day 5: Overnight anchoring in protected coves, strategies for safe anchoring in varied conditions.
- Day 6: Return to Ibiza and final evaluation of the training.
